The problem
You understand English — but speaking still feels stuck.
Most learners spend years on grammar and vocabulary, then freeze the moment they need to speak. The knowledge is there; the fluent output is missing.
Passive knowledge
You recognise words when you read or listen, but they don’t come out when it’s time to talk.
The translation habit
You build each sentence in Arabic first, then translate — so speaking is slow and exhausting.
No speaking system
Courses hand you rules and word lists, but no clear path from reading a text to speaking about it.
Fading confidence
Without structured practice, hesitation grows and motivation quietly slips away.
The method
The Read-Track-Speak system, step by step.
Read to Speak follows one principle: input comes first, output comes second. Every unit moves through the same six-step cycle — from first hearing the language to speaking it as your own.
The principleInput first. Output second.
Input phase
- 01
Listen
Before reading anything, listen to the audio three to five times. Tune your ear to the pronunciation, rhythm, stress, and natural intonation.
- 02
Shadow
Play the audio again and speak at the same time for several repetitions — copying the connected speech and melody until whole sentences sound natural, not just single words.
- 03
Read
Now read the passage aloud on your own, keeping the same pronunciation and rhythm you just practised. This completes the input phase.
Output phase
- 04
Build active vocabulary
Study the vocabulary, then work the Word-Tracking Grid: choose your target words and mark a box each time you use one, moving them from passive recognition to active use.
- 05
Speak
Answer the four speaking prompts with your own ideas and opinions. The questions come from the passage, but the answers are yours — real communication, not memorised lines.
- 06
Review
After every three units, the review recycles the vocabulary, grammar, reading, and speaking so it settles into long-term memory.
The Read to Speak formula
Master the input first, then turn it straight into output. That is how passive knowledge becomes fluent English.
The word-tracking grid
Vocabulary you actually use — not just recognise.
Every unit ends with a Word-Tracking Grid. Choose your target words, then mark a box each time you use one in a real conversation — aim for five uses before you move on. It is the bridge from recognising a word to owning it.

The core principle
Proper input, immediate output.
Fluency isn’t built by studying about English. It’s built by taking rich, understandable input and using it to speak — right away, while it’s fresh.
Proper input
Level-appropriate reading and audio, dense with useful vocabulary and delivered in real context, so meaning is always clear.
Immediate output
Structured speaking prompts right after each passage, so the words you just read become words you can say.
Input you understand, output you produce — in the very same session.
AI Study Partner
Practise every unit with a tutor that follows the method.
The speaking stage of each unit doesn’t have to happen alone. When you finish the reading, tell the AI Study Partner your level and unit — “Let’s study B2+ Unit 8” — and it guides you through the speaking practice, following the same Read to Speak method.
In each session it helps you
- Answer the unit’s speaking prompts
- Activate the lesson’s vocabulary in conversation
- Understand any difficult words
- Correct your mistakes with guided feedback
- Practise shadowing with guidance
- Build speaking fluency, naturally
- When to use it
- Right after the reading — the output stage of every lesson.
- Part of the method
- It follows the same Read-Track-Speak cycle: the Speak stage, now with a partner.

About
Built by a teacher, for real speakers.
Ahmed Magdy
Founder & author · Read to Speak
Read to Speak is the work of Ahmed Magdy, an English teacher who grew tired of watching motivated learners understand everything and say almost nothing.
The method distils years of classroom experience into a structured, self-study path any adult learner can follow — turning reading practice directly into speaking ability.
